EFT (Tapping)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique, is a form of energy psychology that combines elements of traditional Chinese medicine, acupressure, and psychology to address emotional and psychological issues. EFT involves tapping on specific meridian points on the body while focusing on a particular issue or emotion in order to release emotional blockages and promote healing.
The theory behind EFT is that negative emotions and experiences can disrupt the body's energy system, leading to emotional distress and physical symptoms. By tapping on specific meridian points, similar to those used in acupuncture, EFT aims to restore balance to the body's energy system and release emotional trauma.
During an EFT session, the individual focuses on a specific issue or emotion while tapping on the designated meridian points. The tapping sequence is typically repeated while the individual acknowledges and accepts their feelings, thoughts, and experiences. This process can help reduce the intensity of negative emotions, reframe limiting beliefs, and promote emotional healing.
EFT is often used to address a wide range of emotional issues, including anxiety, stress, phobias, trauma, and chronic pain. It is considered a gentle and non-invasive therapy that can be easily learned and practiced on one's own. EFT is often used in conjunction with other forms of therapy and is typically conducted by trained practitioners who have experience in energy psychology techniques.
